Week 34: Butternut Squash
Hi Sweetheart,
It has been a sick 2 weeks for mummy. First started with cramps after Mummy spoke to an irritating guy on a Friday evening. Then on Monday, the cramps were bad enough that I had to rest at home and go on bed rest. Thereafter, what started as a dry throat developed into the worst flu ever coupled with cough for the whole week.
Finally, decided to go to the doc for medicine, and met a crazy man who refused to leave the doctor's room as he was refused an MC. Anyway, the medicine did help with the sore throat and flu, fortunately. I thought we could enjoy our long weekend, but who knows!
On Sunday, Mummy started having cramps in the afternoon. It was menses like cramps, but bearable. Since, they were supposed to be normal, and they went away after a while, I didn't think much of it.
I then decided, I should make some fried bee hoon and ended it off with a green coconut since there was still remnants of the virus. Lo and behold, I started having cramps before bedtime. It went off as well, so we dismissed it.
However, I woke up at 3plus in the morning and had the worst cramps ever! I was curling in the bed, it was all over my lower abdominal and back. The frequency of the cramps scared me. It was usually once a week or every couple of days. This was 3 times in 12 hours and you are definitely not ready to be out.
Daddy called the gynae and we were asked to go do a CTG at the hospital. At the point of time, Mummy was really worried, what if you decided to come out? When we reached the hospital, I was being strapped to the machine while the nurse asked why it took me so long to come since the cramps started in the afternoon.
Anyway, we got monitored for 30 mins, you were kicking the CTG belt and I was having mild contractions. It seems to be ok, so gynae says I can go home, moreover, the pain subsided!
By the time we got home, the cramps came back again, it wasn't as bad as the previous time, and it slowly subsided, came back with another time and then it was totally gone.
Mummy was so tired, I practically slept and slept and slept. So it looks like I'm actually ok now! I hope you heard what we said to you and decided that you should incubate till 40 weeks ok!
Much as we love to have you with us, we still need to make sure that you will be a healthy, full term baby.
So sweetheart, remember to be patient, your cot is still not here yet! :p
Love,
Daddy & Mummy

Week 32: Squash
Hi Sweetheart,
We are at Week 32 and less that 2 months to go from now.
During the 32 week scan, you are weighing in at about 1.88kg. Assuming a 200g growth per week, we are estimating you at 3.4kg during full term.
Gynae seems to think that you are marginally heavy, especially with your FAT chubby cheeks. :p
Mummy apparently needs to control what I'm eating as well as the amount of sugar I'm taking in! So far, my net weight gain from pre-pregnancy is 7.9kg, hopefully we can keep it below 10kg for the whole pregnancy! :p
And you, my sweet little pie, still covering your face when we try to take a 3D picture. This time you were better cos you decided to listen to us and sleep, but the hands are still there, unfortunately! You do sleep like daddy!
We are getting nearer and nearer to the finishing line, you are still having fun inside I supposed. My hospital bag's not packed, the cot's not here, but your clothes are ready though. :p
We did discuss about the birth plan with the gynae, hopefully, we can go through a normal natural delivery. Work with me here ok, I know we can do it! Daddy says I need to be in control, hopefully I can la. :p
Keep yourself happy and healthy ok!
Love,
Mummy and Daddy

Week 29: Acorn Squash
Hi Sweetie Darling,
And we are on week 29 with 77 more days to go! That's a little bit more than 2 months.
On our 28 week scan, you were weighing 1.1kg, that's only about 350g increase from 4 weeks ago. Dr Chua says you are on track, but Mummy hopes that you will grow more in the next 4 weeks ok? Mummy managed to keep a 1.5kg weight gain for the past 4 weeks, total weight gain is now at 5.7kg. :p
Please work hard with Mummy to grow more okie darling.
For some reason, I'm feeling really happy this week. We're expecting the delivery of your carseat! We bought them last friday, it's the First Years True Fit Convertible Car Seat which will be your good friend in SKAC for the next 4 years at least!
This Friday, we're going to get your stroller. Hopefully, we have a good deal.
This morning, Daddy came in to the room while Mummy was preparing to go to work. He suddenly showed me this checklist of what to prepare for the arrival of your baby. It makes me really happy, cos I can see that Daddy's really excited about your arrival too.
On sunday, we will be going to the wedding dinner of Daddy's good friend. This will be the first time everyone of them will see Mummy carrying you! Aren't you excited? :p
Keep yourself happy and healthy ok sweetheart!
Love,
Daddy & Mummy.

88 Days to go
88 is a nice number! So there's 88 more days to go t the big day and it has been a long tiring day!
A toot took leave today while I took mc. :p We went to see the TCM again for our last dose of medicine to boost baby. Was very glad when he says baby is healthy and a very active baby! We really have an active girl! He says that the baby did absorb the medicine that I took, so, well done my sweetheart, good to know that we did not waste any money!
Some stuffs to note:
3rd Trimester
1. Week 29 to Week 31 - To walk more to aid delivery.
2. Week 33 to Week 34 - Increase frequency of birds' nest twice a week for development of baby's lungs.
3. Week 36 - To stop birds' nest after week 36.
4. Week 37 to Week 40 - Take young coconut drink once a week. Do not take the coconut flesh as it's really heaty.
5. Week 40 onwards - Avoid heaty food and tonic. Take neutral and light food so that the baby does not develop rashes when she's out.
After Delivery
1. Wear socks in the hospital to prevent wind from entering through the feet. *Extremely Important as it will affect the uterus*
2. No Ginger during the 1st 5 days after delivery. This is to prevent baby from getting jaundice.
3. Can start consuming ginger after 5 days or 1 week later if baby is cleared from jaundice.
4. Drink only Longan Red Date Tea. No ginger required. No water.
5. If breastfeeding, the breastmilk consists of 3 parts milk and 7 parts water, hence, there's no need for baby to drink water.
6. 1st Day of Delivery: To eat Threadfin Porridge. Just boil threadfin and porridge together without ginger. This is to help replenish liquid in the body. Can do without actual confinement food. It's also easier to digest after delivery as you will be really exhausted.
7. Any medicine given by the doctor to be consumed only AFTER breastfeeding.
If Lack of Breastmilk
1. 1/2 a portion of Threadfin Bone
2. 1/2 a portion of Green Papaya - remove skin and seeds
3. Boil both items together till white soup for around 1 hour.
4. To drink to aid the supply of breastmilk.
Loads to remember!
We went to the Toyogo warehouse to get storage boxes for baby's clothes and loads of other stuffs. Very worth it and so much cheaper. They had these purchase with purchase promotion where we could get toyogo boxes at $5!
Thereafter, it was hospital tour at Mt A after that so that there is no surprises when we admit. Haha.
I'm so extremely tired now but am very glad that everything went on smoothly for us. We only wait 1 hour at the TCM!
Baby is happy too. :p
Our loot from Toyogo!

Week 27: Rutabaga
Hi sweetheart,
Mummy has no idea what a Rutabaga is! It's probably something I don't eat. But, we are getting there, 1 more week and we'll be on week 28 and we can see you again. Hopefully this time, you will stop your acrobatic antics for a while so that we can take a cute picture in 3D. :p
You seemed to have started to learn dancing in the tummy. All the vibrations I feel during work in the afternoon, woah! You active little girl, I suppose you are trying to keep your weight on track for all the food we have been eating?
It all seems so surreal that in a matter of 13 weeks, you will probably be in my arms, cooing at me and daddy. You know we try our very best to welcome you and give you whatever we can. We just bough a comfy sofa bed so Grandma / Daddy can sleep there while Mummy can breastfeed you on it. Your cot is coming in a month's time, I hope you like it!
The clothes are ready, we just need to get the storage cabinet for you.
We should be ready for you in time. Again, keep yourself happy and healthy. I know you are going to be a happy baby!
Love,
Daddy & Mummy

Week 24: Canteloupe
Hi Sweetiepie,
We are at our 6 months mark and at least 3 more months to go before we get to carry you in our arms. Your clothes are ready, all pinky and white. Your cot has been ordered. So now, we just have to wait for daddy to clear up the room. :p
At the 24 weeks scan, you were measuring 742g. That's more than twice the amount of weight in 4 weeks. By the next scan, you should be hitting at least 1kg! Your legs are still longer than average which is super good news to mummy. :p
Bad news for mummy though, cos I have put on 3.3kg. We really need to control our diet now even though it's been a 4.5kg gain in total so far.
Recently, I have been talking to you and asking you to be grateful for seats that strangers have been giving up to us. I guess it helps to be grateful. We are also grateful for all the wonderful things that have happened and all the wonderful people around us right.
Mummy is always trying to keep a positive mindset. I think it helps to make life easier to bear.
Keep yourself happy and healthy sweetheart, we know you can do it. Before we know it, you will be right here in this wonderful world with us.
Love ya,
Mummy and Daddy.

Week 21: Pomegranate
Hi Sweetheart,
We had such an amazing detailed scan. It was so fast! Way too fast that we finished in less than 15 mins and how I wished I had more time to look at you.
I guess talking to you helps and you maintain a sleeping position in the beginning and only started waking up towards the end of the scan.
Your growth was right on track at 19 weeks and 4 days though you had thighs the length of a 20week baby weighing in at 311g. So, a supermodel in the making?
No surprises on the gender, get ready for a world full of pink.
Both the gynae and TCM are happy with your growth, it looks like, we are really right on track for the big day!
Last weekend, we had a Qool staycation at Quincy Hotel. Did you have fun eating and sleeping and swimming in all those Ice-Cream that we had? Do you like the diaper bag we bought for you? We can't wait to see you in the gap baby rompers and the baby swaddle! :p
This week, you are the size of a pomegranate! Wow, about 350g in weight?
We are more than halfway through this journey and getting excited by the minute. Mummy can definitely sense your excitement by those forceful kicks. I guess you little house is getting too squeezy for you huh?
Everytime Daddy tries to feel you, you will trick him by not moving, and the moment he lifts his hand, you'll start your little disco again.
Last night, Mummy was sleeping and started thinking of all the unhappy stuffs that happened. I was crying so badly and so worried for you. As Daddy was calming me down, we put both our hands on the tummy, and suddenly, you gave such a hard kick! Imagine both of us looking at each other in the dark, feeling so grateful for this little life growing inside me. Feeling so happy that you were trying to make Mummy feel better.
Nothing could ever replace the bond we have my darling.
We are so looking forward to your arrival.

Week 19: Mango
Baby is 19 weeks now and we are off to detailed scan tomorrow. Gynae has made her convincing guess on the gender and tomorrow's the day to confirm. Hopefully we have a healthy baby. It's a new milestone for me to reach 20 weeks.
The bump is getting more obvious now. Weight gain is steady, I think I have gained close to 3kg so far. The nose bleed is still around. And this week I'm nursing flu and sore throat.
Sore throat was so bad that it kept me up all night. But it also gave me the opportunity for me to experience baby's karate's kick! That was such an experience. :p
Anyway, more on baby when we are back!

Kick Kick Kick
My Dear Little Human,
Mummy felt you kicks last night. That was such an incredible feeling. 3 little kicks and my skin stretch. Do you prefer to stay on my right side? I hope you inherit daddy's legs so that you can grow up to be taller.
Daddy felt a little bit of you as well. Are you growing well? We hope you will continue to grow healthily and be a happy baby.
We are so looking forward to meet you next week and to see whether you are a prince or princess and to see that you have grown bigger!
Love Ya darling,
